Ronaldo a 'future Portugal captain' Saturday, November 11, 2006
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari believes that Cristiano Ronaldo will captain his country, perhaps even during his reign as manager.
"We are already working on his leadership skills, which will be very important in the future," admitted Scolari after announcing his squad for the Euro 2008 qualifier with Kazakhstan.
"He is a youngster but he has learnt quickly how to lead a group.
"Maybe he could be captain during my time here."
Nuno Gomes skippers the team following the decision to axe Costinha, with Luis Figo and Pauleta also out of the reckoning.
