Ronaldo gets Player Of The Month Award Tuesday, December 12, 2006
Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Barclays Premiership player of the month for November after helping his side to keep hold of their place at the top of the Premiership.
Manchester United have moved six points clear of Chelsea and they were helped largely by Ronaldo's peformances.
The Portuguese winger scored against Portsmouth and Everton with superb goals and also created three goals for his team-mates.
Jim Hytner, from the Barclays Premiership awards panel, said: "Ronaldo has been in excellent form, putting in a string of outstanding performances on the wing.
"His strike against Portsmouth has got to be a contender for goal of the month."
Only yesterday, Wayne Rooney claimed that Ronaldo has taken a step forward as a player and a person since the controversy following the World Cup, and the award should pave the way for him to take another, though debate continues on the alleged diving incidents involving him.
