Ronaldo can be world's best Saturday, December 30, 2006
Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz reckons Cristiano Ronaldo will soon be the best player in the world, and he is already the finest performer in the Premiership.
The 21-year-old has been in sparkling form this season, plundering 10 league goals, with four strikes in his last two appearances.
Ronaldo came off the bench to dazzle Wigan Athletic in front of a record Premiership crowd at Old Trafford on Boxing Day and his fellow countryman Quieroz joined in the adulation for the winger.
"Cristiano Ronaldo, today, is the image reference to the world for Portuguese football," Quieroz enthused to Radio Renaissance.
"I am convinced that he will soon be one of the best players in the world if he does not suffer injuries, which is a key question for any player.
"Each match is an exhibition for him and he receives great comments from companions and rivals.
"Today, I do not see another player with those qualities in the Premier League.
