Ronaldo signing unlikely - Ruud Saturday, March 24, 2007
Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy believes it will be difficult for the club to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese winger has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu, despite ongoing contract negotiations with Manchester United.
"He is a very good player, despite his 22 years. The best player in the world," said van Nistelrooy. "Physically and technically he has improved a lot.
"It would be good for me if he came. But it is difficult to see Manchester letting him leave."
Van Nistelrooy and Ronaldo clashed on the training ground when the Dutchman was with United, but the striker insists he would have no problem with his arrival.
Asked if he had a good relationship with the youngster, Van Nistelrooy said: "Yes. In training everything went well. There was chemistry."
Ronaldo has confirmed that he wants to stay at Manchester United for the foreseeable future, but he did stress that he would one day like to play in La Liga.
