Ronaldo wants all-English final Thursday, March 13, 2008
Cristiano Ronaldo is anxiously awaiting Friday's Champions League draw.
“I don’t want to play one of the English clubs at the quarter-final stage," said the Portuguese. "I would much prefer it in the semis or better still the final. To have two English sides in the final would be fantastic.”
First All-England Final On The Cards?
Previous Champions League finals between teams from the same country occured in 2000 (Real Madrid beat Valencia) and in 2003 (AC Milan beat Juventus). England is the only country in with a chance of accomplishing that this season.
Friday's draw also includes Barcelona, Schalke 04, Fenerbahce and Roma, with anybody able to play anyone regardless of whether they already played in the group stages.
