Wayne Rooney is confident Cristiano Ronaldo will soon be back to his best and terrorizing defences both at home and abroad.
The Portuguese star has been slowly eased back into the first team fray in the past week, coming on as a substitute in Manchester United's games against Villarreal and Chelsea on Sunday.
Ronaldo was unable to inspire United to a win on either occasion but Rooney is backing his team-mate to make an impact before too long.
"It is a great boost for everyone to have Cristiano back," said Rooney.
"He adds a different dimension to our play, so hopefully he can get a few more games under his belt.
"Everyone knows what a great player he is. Once he is fully fit he will soon start producing his best form again."
United's next game pits them against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, where it is expected Ronaldo may figure at some stage in a bid to garner further match fitness.
