Cristiano Ronaldo is unlikely to play in Manchester United's Champions League tie with Villarreal on Wednesday.

Manager Alex Ferguson is allowing Ronaldo more time with his family in Portugal after the death of the 20-year-old's father on Tuesday.

Ferguson said: "We have just told him to be with his mother until everything is sorted.

"He will pick his own time to come back, but I don't think Cristiano will be in the squad on Wednesday."
