Cristiano Ronaldo is one of four Premiership players named in Uefa's Team of the Year for 2004.
The 19-year-old winger has been acknowledged for his excellent finish to United's 2003/04 season, in which he was awarded the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, and his outstanding performances for Portugal in last summer's European Championships.
Arsenal's Thierry Henry and Ashley Cole also make the team, voted for by reader's of Uefa's official website, while Chelsea's Ricardo Carvalho, formerly of FC Porto, partners AC Milan's Alessandro Nesta in the centre of defence.
Milan are United's opponents in next month's Champions League last 16 tie, and have influence on Uefa's team; Nesta being joined by Brazilian defender Cafu and Ukraine striker and Ballon d'Or winner Andriy Shevchenko.
Over 1.2 million votes were cast to decide reader's best team of 2004.
Portugal's successful year, capped by FC Porto winning the Champions League and the national team's run to the Euro 2004 final is noted; Carvalho, Maniche, Ronaldo, and team manager of the year Jose Mourinho are all included.
Past United players to be voted into the team include David Beckham in the 2001 team and Ruud van Nistelrooy in last year's side.
